Goldband combines pop with social commentary and remains a massive success in the Benelux region despite minor scandals regarding their wild stage presence.
Three guys from The Hague used to be plasterers. Then they picked up microphones instead of trowels and named their band after the plaster they used to work with. Goldband was born, and somehow it worked.
Samen Tegen Elkaar is the album that turned them into arena headliners, selling out huge venues like the Ziggo Dome in minutes. Their sound bounces between pop, house and old school gabber, and their concerts are famous for being pure chaos in the best way, band members jumping into the crowd, one of them even breaking a bone doing it.
Behind the party vibe there is real feeling too, songs about loss and friendship sitting right next to pure festival anthems. It is proof that a bit of scandal and a lot of heart can take you straight to the top of the charts.
